A Total Experience

I don’t know about you but there is a lot I didn’t know about total solar eclipses! They are usually a once in a lifetime experience that one never forgets and it’s happening here in Maine!  What makes it so special is it’s a total solar eclipse instead of partial. Here in southern Maine, we will see a partial eclipse but northern Maine will experience the total eclipse.

I don’t know about you but there is a lot I didn’t know about total solar eclipses! They are usually a once in a lifetime experience that one never forgets and it’s happening here in Maine!  What makes it so special is it’s a total solar eclipse instead of partial. Here in southern Maine, we will experience a more partial eclipse but northern Maine will experience a total eclipse.  People from all over the world seek these eclipses because they are a total body experience that is not to be experienced behind a camera to put it bluntly.  I for one have not experienced such an event and the more I learn the more I want to see it!

People from all over the world seek these eclipses because they are more of a total body experience that really should be seen without camera, phone, or any device.  I for one have not experienced such an event but the more I learn the more I want to see it!

One thing I must let you know though is it is so important to wear the glasses. Our retinas burn like a sunburn and don’t have ability to tell you they are being burnt and on top of that they can’t heal.  Please wear the glasses for your own eyesight.

Like I said it should be experienced without device because my belief it’s one of those experiences where the picture won’t do justice anyway thereby being then a very personal experience. Heck, it’s going to go by so quick minutes will feel like seconds! So, I highly recommend putting the phone down for this one.

Some of things to expect while seeing the total eclipse that are so spectacular is the moon passes over the sun like a black disc and creates a diamond ring effect, twilight turns into darkness creating a 360-degree sunset, the temperature drops, the animals start to chirp and tweet and roosters might even awaken, Venus and Jupiter appear and some places could even see the comet that is passing by. All pretty amazing if you ask me!

If you do get the chance to see this awesome event (totality path click here) please be careful, prepare, do your research, have plenty of gas etc. And of course, in your adventure be sure to make the Alouette Beach Resort is your pit stop and say Hi!
