Lobster Dip

Are you BRRRAAAAVE enough to “shell-a-brate” New Year’s Day at the beach on a winter day in Maine?
Since 1988, Lobster Dippers have kicked off the New Year in a fun and meaningful way by jumping in the ice-cold Atlantic Ocean on winter January day in Maine. All to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Maine.
Last year, Maine’s original dip had a record-breaking year! The event drew in over 500 brave souls who jumped in the frigid waters and raised over $175,000!

Each dipper must raise minimum of $100. Dippers who raise a $100 or more receive a commemorative 2024 Special Olympics Maine Lobster Dip long sleeve shirt.

Dippers have the opportunity to earn Lobster Dip swag! Jackets, shirts & more.
Team and individual costumes are strongly encouraged! We have surprises for most creative costumes.
Stick around for the after party! Grab some food & drink and warm up on the dance floor to Maine’s two hottest bands. 12/OC & Something Stupid will be rockin’ the stage at The Brunswick.
