• learn the pastry technique of lamentation
• consider the differences and uses for common pie debates: flour vs. cornstarch and butter vs. shortening, water vs. alcohol
• experiment with unusal addtions to classic pie favorites.
• take home a slice of pie, two prepared crusts, and a recipes

Genevieve Victoria Casale Johnson works with children and adults as a play facilitator, and Frith Farm’s Events Coordinator. She values youth leadership, intergenerational exchange, and equitability. Her focus is on creating and advocating for nourishing play opportunities in outdoor spaces. These environments are intended to restore individual and collective relationships to the natural environment. She integrates artistic, culinary, ecological, and social exploration.

Admission is $45, sliding scale is available. Please pay the amount you are able.

As a gesture of reparations for systemic inequities within the field of agriculture, Frith Farm offers free admissions to all events and workshops for BIPOC attendees.

In addition to sliding scale donations, work-trade options are available. The Frith Farm crew works 7am to 4pm Monday-Friday. We suggest 4 hours of work in exchange for the workshop.

Notes on COVID-19 protocols: This event will be held in our commerical farm kitchen with a ventilation system. Space is limted to 6 participants. All participants must wear masks and observe social distancing for the duration of the workshop.
