He’s also the Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association\, Maine Chapter. \nSean Daniels (drums) anchors the band with precision and dynamic skill. DESCRIPTION:Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition and details the hopes\, loves\, losses of those he observes\, turning their stories into luminous pieces of music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced him\, everyone from Joni Mitchell\, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration\, Woody Guthrie\, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless. Born and raised in Maine\, Paul attended Boston College on a track scholarship and in the evenings became a fixture on the city’s open mic circuit. After winning a Boston Acoustic Underground songwriter competition\, he caught the ear of folk luminary Bill Morrissey\, who produced his indie album Say Something in 1993. This led to a seven-album contract with Rounder Records and the 1994 album\, Stories. \nHis songs have appeared in several blockbuster films (Me\, Myself\, and Irene; Shallow Hal\, Hall Pass) and have been covered by award winning country artists (Sugarland\, Kristian Bush\, Jack Ingram). Through a steady succession of albums of his own – a remarkable 23 releases so far – and a constant touring presence around the world\, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans. Along the way\, he has picked up an impressive number of awards including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award\, 15 Boston Music Awards\, An Honorary Doctorate from the University of Maine\, the 2019 International Acoustic Music Awards Artist of the Year and most recently his album\, The Storyteller’s Suitcase\, was named the 2019 NERFA Album of the Year. \nHis new album “55” touches on the necessity of gratitude in a difficult era of the pandemic and divided political stances on his own imprint\, Rosella Records.

DESCRIPTION:An undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music\, Jim Messina’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades\, three super groups\, a vibrant solo career and scores of producing and engineering credits. \nWhile acting as producer/audio engineer for Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Buffalo Springfield\, Messina ultimately joined the band as its bass player. When “the Springfield” disbanded in 1968\, Jim and fellow bandmate Richie Furay formed Poco. With Jim on lead guitar\, Poco defined a new musical genre\, Country Rock. After three successful albums\, Jim was ready for a change and left to return to his passion for producing music. He signed as an independent producer with Columbia Records. \nIn November 1970\, Columbia asked Jim to work with an unknown Kenny Loggins. While helping Kenny get ready for a record and touring\, the two discovered that they worked well together and Jim agreed to sit in on Kenny’s first album. Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin’ In was released in November of 1971 and an accidental duo was formed. \nOver the next seven years\, Loggins & Messina released eight hit albums\, had scores of hit songs and sold over 16 million albums. They had become one of rock’s most successful recording duos ever\, but it was time for the duo to go their separate ways. \nAfter a series of celebrated solo acoustic tours\, Jim formed a band made of acclaimed musicians who have played with him at various points in his career. His latest release\, In the Groove\, includes selected hits from all three of Jim’s previous bands\, as well as several of his solo works. \nTouring the country and playing sold-out shows\, Jim says that he’s enjoying discovering who he is\, where he’s been and\, most significantly\, where he’s going.

Over two decades\, this fiercely independent band has built a legacy of genre-defying\, politically charged\, and emotionally resonant folk-rock praised as “some of the best songwriting of their generation” (LA Times). Their music resonates with urgency and tenderness—amplifying the voices of conscience\, connection\, and the full spectrum of human experience.Hailing from New York’s Hudson Valley\, The Mammals emerged in the early 2000s as “subversive acoustic traditionalists” (Boston Globe)\, blending old-timey roots with lyrical fire and magnetic force. After a period of redefinition as Mike + Ruthy\, the band reemerged in 2017 and have since continued to forge music that is as topical as it is timeless. The Washington Post writes\, “They don’t suffer from multiple genre syndrome—they celebrate it.”Their forthcoming 2025 double album Touch Grass Vol. 1 & 2 marks the band’s most expansive offering to date. A lyrical wake-up call and a tender salve\, the album was recorded at their own Humble Abode Music studio over four years. DESCRIPTION:Mike O’Hehir\, the man at the heart of Coyote Island\, is an old soul\, but the music he’s crafted with his band and growing collection of diverse collaborators is as fresh as anything going today. From the breezy and bouncy mix of Caribbean beats and contemporary pop production that blasted “Here Before” into the post-pandemic public consciousness to the meditative and moody organ that makes “Shine through the Darkness” a glimmering beacon for lost souls\, his songs are mood enhancements and attitude adjustments — perfect for a generation of music lovers looking for a path forward. \nNow\, to follow the breakout success of their 2023 album “Holy Illusion\,” Coyote Island have released “Trust the Path\,” featuring the Hip Abduction\, the first single from a full-length they have plans to release this August. Much like everything to come from a band named for the coyote\, often depicted as a wise and playful trickster in indigenous cultures\, the sound is hard to pin down. It opens warm and inviting\, walks into a skittering chorus\, then brings in thundering drums and an ethereal guitar lead. \n“You don’t have to please everyone/ You gotta listen to your soul now\,” O’Hehir offers to open “Trust the Path\,” and that sentiment is core to the Coyote Island ethos. As he has moved from itinerant troubadour criss-crossing the United States to rooted family man\, he has put together a band fully invested in exploring the possibilities offered up by everything from reggae to folk\, Afrobeats to Gypsy jazz\, cumbia to psychedelia. Guitarist Amir Rivera\, a co-writer on “Trust the Path\,” is versatile and wily. Fans know anything can happen when he comes strutting toward the front of the stage. And the rhythm section of Garrett Jones on bass and Ryan Benoit on drums navigate the often complex rhythms in a way that makes them feel comfortable and familiar. \nNot that you have to be some kind of musicologist to appreciate what Coyote Island is doing. \nLike Khruangbin or Father John Misty\, Vampire Weekend or Talking Heads\, they take these authentic traditions and spin them into the future\, bringing you along with them as they follow their own path\, trusting that they’ll figure everything out along the way. Or won’t. It’s that sort of curiosity about the world that turns clubs into tent revivals\, festivals into mystical experiences. The coyote is elusive\, by nature. You sort of have to let go of the wheel and see what happens. \nWith new music on the way that will challenge anyone to predict what comes next\, O’Hehir and crew find themselves creating deep connections to people via a shared vibration everyone can only hear for themselves: “It’s all about you\,” he likes to tell folks. “You have to dance in authenticity.”
